Im going to stay on my belief that the playoffs are random and will always be random.
Florida was a really hot team down the stretch and they were a freaking -9 people. It was a legit matchup and they won in 4. Lay the crap to rest and move on.
2003 Hybrid World Champion (115-47 reg season, 11-4 playoffs)
TBL: Anaheim Angels 2006-present (238-244 regular season, 1 division title)
MSL: St Louis Cardinals 2013-present (2734-2936 regular season, 5 division titles, 2 championships)
TSSL: Seattle Mariners 2006-2029, Pittsburgh Pirates 2030-present (209-277, 5 division titles w/SEA, 1 championship w/SEA)
Nothing random when Florida has done this for almost 20 OOTP seasons. It's dyne-tastic. The Evil Empire of the South.
And I rest easy knowing I beat them once.

Looking at ratings only to examine this.
C is pretty close to a toss-up. Jacob has more speed but Gonzalez has more OBP potential, I think Jacob is a bigger threat after his big season. Ramos is a bigger impact bat, but Lavery is a huge on-base threat coming from leadoff, Ramos would get it IMO. Miller vs Sanchez is close but I think Sanchez gets the slight edge. Azevedo is a huge power threat and easily better than Triado. Erazo is good, but Wicks is better. Holmes is your Wicks and better than Brammer. Kelly and Clark are pretty much a toss-up.

McC over Paschal. Hankerson and Keifer are a toss-up. Hage over Frink, but Frink also had a great year with a sub 3 ERA. Mendez over Savino.

I did not use complete bullpens, just who actually pitched in our games. I won't go through them all but I think we can both agree that I have more quality depth.

San Fran, I posted this just as a comparison (nothing in regards to your post that was mis-interpreted.) Game 1 and Game 4 were both close and won in late innings by me. Your core is there, but I think you lacking a really deep bullpen is what did you in. Not that you need perfect closers in each spot but by going with the law of averages, having that depth is what will win more games with the game goes deep. Getting another 7-7-8 type of arm or two for your pen in middle relief would be huge IMO.
Also losing Chalmers hurt a lot it seems. Tirado hit only .118 and with Chalmers who is better rated and brings big speed, that might of changed this whole series. I had Lavery lead off with little power but a .444 OBP and that setup the big guys in back. If Chalmers was able to get on at a .350 clip like he did this season, those close games could of went either way.
So despite the 3-1 score, we know this was a close series outside of Game two. If your bullpen held onto game 1, making it a 2-2 series if everything else stayed the same, I think game 5 would have been yours. Hankerson is a good pitcher but McC is a legend and I think that would have gone your way.
Anyway, a good fight and get a few arms in the offseason so you'll have someone who is really good be able to bridge over to Ward and Loera.
