It's impossible to profit by making bets on mutually exclusive outcomes. Whatever happens, you come out with a 10% loss assuming you wager evenly on both outcomes.

Wait a miute. You hedge those bets, and win 667, you lose. Because in total, you put down 1000. The other way, you win, but your minute dividends increase if you don't bet.

You want to hedge, you don't go bankrupt. But you will lose a little less than you will win.
