And your post illustrates why it takes 25 guys to win, NOT ONE.

If it takes 25 guys to win, then how can you say with a straight face that you can value an individual player completely independant of his team, based on his team's past performance? Especially since players change teams so frequently these days sometimes very late in the season (read: Orlando Cabrera).

Is that not what your theory (if ever put to work) would try to achieve? Value an individual, based on what his teams have achieved in the past? Correct me if I'm wrong!! All you've ever done is tell me I'm wrong and then neglect to tell me how I'm wrong.

Boo, Jay Bell rocked with 38 homers in 1999. I'd love to have him on my team that season.

This is the 2001 version of Bell, not 1998.

I thought Tim Salmon retired? Otherwise that's not a bad starting 8, General. They could win the NL West. The starting pitching would get destroyed though. And the gas-cans in the pen gave me a good laugh. Good post.

What, you mean Carl Pavano doesn't qualify for the all Win Method team?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.
