Yet I didn't say I didn't look at Mauer. I said I looked more in depth at LaRue's stats and found that based on his rate of improvement and very solid all-around game, he deserved the spot. At first I made a list without looking at stats and LaRue and Barrett both weren't on it, but after looking at stats I decided they were easily worthy and just happened to be two of the more underrated catchers in baseball.
And on the other point, you brought up Kendall, Lo Duca, Lopez, and Schneider initially, and I refuted them all. You then defended all of the people I said no to, including Kendall, and I picked on Kendall the most because he was the worst choice out of the people you mentioned. After I brought up Kendall's statistical inferiority, you continued to try and defend him and then accused me of only singling out Kendall. You called me a homer because I chose a Red for the list, even though you didn't look at any stats. Mauer and LaRue were virtually equal defensively and in OPS, so I went with the player who was a bit more proven. This list is my opinion and not the end-all list of best catchers. Get over it.
