Hanrahan dealt; Liriano signed

Looks like they might get Jerry Sands, Mark Melancon, and a couple others for Hanrahan.

And then they signed Liriano to a 2 year deal. Wonder which Liriano they'll get?

For a front office that leans sabermetric, the Red Sox sure have given up a ton in Josh Reddick, Jed Lowrie, etc. to try to fill the all-important "saves" stat category.

Interestingly enough they're possibly acquiring another guy with possible arm concerns.

So then this probably puts them out of the running for Brian Wilson? I hope not, since his preferred teams are Boston and LA.

I guess it's not a bad deal, if a little disappointing we couldn't get more.

I love Melancon as a buy low candidate, and at least we didn't settle for Chris Capuano(due to the signing for Lirano.)

Sands really has no fit, though, so I find it hard to believe we couldn't have gotten a guy with a higher upside for the minors instead.
