Cliff Lee was nearly unhittable again Tuesday, tossing his third straight shutout while allowing just two walks and two hits in a 5-0 win over the Red Sox.
He struck out five. James Shields has thrown three straight complete games, but Lee has one-upped him by completing three straight games without giving up a run. After a relatively down May, Lee has had an historic June, allowing just one run over 42 innings. Now 9-5 with a 2.66 ERA and 1.07 WHIP for the season, Lee will try to run his shutout streak to four on Sunday against the Blue Jays.
