Lost in all the hype recently has Pat Burrell. Alot of people where talking about him until he hit a slump for 2 weeks. I think he's very important for the Phillies if they intend to take first in the division.
Last year down the stretch he hit it huge. His production was amazing and ended up with 30 Hrs and nearly 100 RBIs.
I personally dont like how every talks so bad about Burrell. There are alot of doubters and people who think he isnt good at all. However I think they are all speaking out of the contract. Sure, he doesnt deserve 14 Million but they need to be more supportive of him so he can excel again. He showed us in April what he can do for us this year when Rollins was down and Howard slumping. Without him I doubt the Phils would have as many wins as they do right now. He's getting out of his slump now and is starting to heat up June, where the Phillies have recently been turing on the gas the past few years.
This is only a good sign for all Phillies hopefuls.
