Phillies Cole Hamels Activated From DL

PHOENIX (AP) -- The Philadelphia Phillies activated left-hander Cole Hamels from the disabled list on Tuesday and started him at Arizona.

To make room for Hamels, the Phillies optioned right-hander Brian Sanches to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.

Hamels, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left shoulder, came into the game with no record and a 3.18 ERA in two major league starts.

Lets hope that this injury, as well as the ego that comes with having a website dedicated to you, doesn't set Hamels back from his (in two starts) good career so far. It looks like Hamels and Floyd have flipped, as Hamels seems over injury struggles, while Floyd is just struggling, period. Hamels having a successful rookie season will be key if the Phillies want to make a push for the playoffs, so I expect Hamels to be eased back in.

Huge Move. They need pitching and this phenom can provide a ton of it. Definetly a pickup in my fantasy league.

He's sorta Zitoesque. Pitched a good game and he's a homie, another Dago from Diego....

Yep, both are very similar pitchers, although Hamels has more velocity on his fastball, and Zito has more bite on his curve. Hamels should eventually be the equivalent of Zito, but probably with a lot more strikeouts.
