What do you think of the guy? You have a lot more insight into our minor leaguers than anybody else IMO; I just don't have time to follow it. Let's hope he's a friggin gem and tears chiat up so everybody can suck Billy's juevos once again.

I doubt Brown will even play...from what I've read he could be a career backup catcher, but not much more. He was doing pretty decent at AAA:

    Code:
Team	From	To	G	AB	R	H	2B	3B	HR	RBI	TB	BB	SO	SB	CS	OBP	SLG	AVG
    SAC	04/06	05/31	28	100	13	29	4	0	6	15	51	13	24	0	0	.365	.510	.290
The only way he plays is if Melhuse/Kendall are both in the game with 1 being the DH and then the catcher gets hurt or something along those lines.

Providence... Then why bring Brown up? They must have one player in Sacramento who could be a bigger help than this!

if they brought up Ginter, they would have had to DFA someone...they didn't want to do that. They have Perez on the bench as the utility INF and he hasn't played much, so why call up another one? There are no OFs in AAA to call up and Bradley is supposedly going to be back soon with a rehab stint planned this weekend...Brown could be sent back down then...

We've already depleted AAA of their pitchers, so there's no one there to call up...though Harden and Loaiza are there and will be back soon.

    Speaking of Harden and Loaiza:

    last night

    Code:
Player	IP	H	R	ER	BB	SO	HR	ERA
    Harden 2.0	1	0	0	0	3	0	0.00
    Loaiza	4.2	5	2	2	1	4	0	3.86
    Loaiza got the win.

    and here's the writeup:

    here

Rich Harden and Esteban Loaiza had successful rehab stints as Sacramento beat Las Vegas, 6-5, on Wednesday.

Harden, who has been on the disabled list since April 27 due to a strained back, started for the River Cats (27-25) and worked two scoreless innings. The right-hander tossed 24 of his 36 pitches for strikes and allowed one hit with three strikeouts. He could return to the Oakland starting rotation as early as Sunday.

Loaiza (1-0) nabbed the win with an 80-pitch outing, yielding two runs on five hits and a walk with four strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. The right-hander has been out since April 29 because of a strained trapezius.

I'm pretty sure Perez is out of options.

we don't need to send Perez down...what I meant about him was that he was a utility INF off the bench and was playing much, now he will...why call up another one like that? If he continues to stink, which I think is due to not playing consistently, then he'd be cut I guess...maybe traded

    this is key for me:

Barry Zito will be Oakland's "bookend" pitcher on the road trip, working the opener in Cleveland and the finale in New York on Sunday. Dan Haren, who beat the Yankees with a six-hitter in the Bronx on Mother's Day, is expected to start next Friday, with Harden working Saturday on five days of rest.
Next weekend I'll get to see Harden on Saturday and Zito on Sunday

I'm not sure what happened, but Loaiza didn't pitch last night and he was supposed to be making his 2nd (and final) rehab start...

I can't find anything about Loaiza not pitching last night...when I do, I'll post it.

Bradley played at AAA last and went 0 - 3, but felt great. Flores was sent down to AAA to make room for Harden.
