Melvin gets a deal

The Athletics and manager Bob Melvin have agreed to a three-year contract through the 2014 season.
The new deal effectively removes the interim tag from Melvin, who was brought on after Bob Geren was fired in June. The Athletics enter play Wednesday at 42-49 with Melvin as skipper.

I really haven't noticed how well Melvin has done so if any A's fans want to give their insight, please do. I know he will have a much easier time managing when he has a healthy rotation, something the A's haven't had all year.

He's been at or above .500 for most of the second half; not sure the overall numbers.

Who knows maybe he'll be in a movie. The A's need thumpers and a new ballpark.
