Coco!
Yuck the Fankees
I'm cuckoo for Coco Crisp!!
Three grand slams? This has been a very strange year for A's fans. Fuck it we took 2/3 from those Yankees.
We can all agree..SWEAR WORD, SWEAR WORD. SWEAR WORD.......Yankees.
I went to a fun game tonight.
Sweep! Time start looking at next year's team. I know it won't happen but I'd love to have Willingham back. We're good in the middle of the infield.
I can see Willingham staying. Why don't you?
This was Willingham's last year of arbitration but I can see the A's paying for his services in maybe a 2-3 year deal.
My boy Moscoso! 7 1/3 no hit baseball
Looks like Brandon Allen, Daric Barton and Ka'aihue will be competing for worst 1B in the AL next season.Athletics acquired 1B Kila Ka'aihue from the Royals for RHP Phillip Hollingsworth.
Ka'aihue was designated for assignment by the Royals last week. He posted a weak .195/.295/.317 batting line in 96 major league plate appearances earlier this year, but the 27-year-old has shown an ability to rake in the past and could find his groove again with a change of scenery. He's worth the minor risk for the offensively inept A's.
Looks like Francona and Theo are not the only one leaving Boston.According to Jane Lee of MLB.com, the Athletics have made Red Sox pitching coach Curt Young their "top target" in the search for a new pitching coach.
The Athletics currently have an opening after Ron Romanick was fired following the season. Young was Oakland's pitching coach for seven years before leaving for Boston last offseason. He still has one year left on his contract, but there was already speculation that the Red Sox would not retain him for 2012. It's not clear how far along in the process they are, but Lee writes that Young is expected to be "reeled back to the Bay Area by the end of the month."
