OF Desme destroying pitchers this year / 4 homers shy of AFL record
Ascending A's: 'Jaw-dropping' Desme | MLB.com: News
OF Grant Desme was drafted in 2007, but was limited until this year due to a few injuries from game play. He hurt his hamstring, wrist, and his non-throwing shoulder at various times. 2009 was his first full season in the minors at the age of 23.
Low Class-A Kane County: .275 with 11 homers, 38 RBIs and an .825 OPS while going 24-for-24 on stolen base attempts over 69 games
High Class-A Stockton: .304 with 20 homers, 51 RBIs, a .398 on-base percentage, a 1.054 OPS and 16 stolen bases in 21 attempts over 62 games
Desme strikes again, homers twice | MLB.com: News
He is playing in the AFL now and already has 10 homers (we're about halfway through the season), which is only 4 homers shy of Brandon Wood's record.
AFL Phoenix: .469 with 10 homers, 22 RBIs, a .544 OBP, and a 1.687 OPS in 12 games.
I can't wait to see how he responds to AA next year. That's where 1B Carter solidified himself as a top prospect and Desme will have the chance to do the same for the A's.

He didn't break the record, but was named MVP of the AFL for 2009.
