Garciaparra is without contention

Today is the last day players can be added to rosters to be eligible for the postseason, and there remains a small chance Nomar Garciaparra will go to a contender.

Garciaparra cleared waivers some time ago, according to sources, but he has drawn little interest, according to a team source. The Phillies, who talked to Garciaparra over the winter, scouted the series in Anaheim and are still looking to add bench help. Though healthy, Garciaparra did not play in the series.
I doubt he gets moved, but I guess anything is possible. Though he said he'd be happy if he stayed. Yea, who wouldn't be happy to get paid and sit because you're always injured? I'd love to get paid just to sit on the bench at MLB games.
