DUEL CHAMPS: After going 10 years without a playoff appearance, the Midland RockHounds went a long ways towards making up for that by winning both halves in 2005.

Midland beat Frisco, 8-6, Sunday to take the second half as well.

The RockHounds will open the playoffs Tuesday when they host San Antonio in the first game of a best-of-five series.

TOP HITTERS: Midland will enter the playoffs as the best hitting team in the Texas League.

The RockHounds edged out Arkansas and Wichita to claim the title. They hit .281.

Tonight at Citibank Ballpark the RockHounds will try to take one step closer to a Texas League Championship.
Righthander Shane Komine (2-1, 3.16) will take the mound in Game 1 and will be opposed left hander Daniel Davidson (13-5, 4.72). This will be the first time in 10 years that the Midland franchise will play in the Texas League Championship. In 1995, Midland was affiliated by the Los Angeles Angels, which is now the same affiliation that Arkansas shares. First pitch is scheduled for 7:00 PM tonight.

Tickets are still available for both Monday's and Tuesday's games at Citibank Ballpark. Box seats ar $8 while reserved seating is only $6. You can call the RockHounds ticket office at (432)-520-2255 to reserve your seat.
