The good news is that we're in the lead. The bad news is that the Twins are coming back and it's a 3-2 game. The terrible, horrible, no-good very bad news is that Duke left in the third inning with pain in his hip. God have mercy.

Other game news - Ellie homered on the first pitch of the game to put us up 1-0 (it's still 3-2 in the ninth btw). Suzuki brought the other runs home on a single in the fourth. Now about Duke. He's had this hip problem before, but everyone's hoping it won't land him on the DL. If it does, it'll be the 22nd time we've used the DL, which ties the mark set in '92 and '07. Not exactly the kind of record you want to set as a team.
Oh yeah Ziggy allowed another run. His ERA is now up to 0.44. Oh the humanity!
Well we held on for the win. 3-2 final score. Ziggy got the save, his third of the season. I don't want to get my hopes up, but maybe, just maybe we can take this series...
Baker has seemed to be getting shafted on run support this year, only 8 hits for the Twins tonight.

Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.
I just picked up Ziggy in fantasy baseball, he better stop this....giving up runs stuff, lol
Haha, I picked him up AFTER the first one. If it continues, I'll drop him so that you and HCG don't form a mob and come after me.
well, I know I don't have time for that, so you don't have to worry about me...not sure about HCG.
Haha, I feel safer now. I just wanna win my league, I wasn't trying to destroy your season.
too late for that...we're playing for 2010 and beyond anyway
Well, with Ziggy, Sweeney, Gonzalez, Eveland, and the guy who's name I won't even try to spell, you have a decent core....how's the progress on the new stadium going?
Barton as well...they really should have let him get a full season at AAA, but I have no doubt that he'll come around eventually. To be honest, I haven't looking into the stadium since the last thread I made about it.
Right! I forgot about Barton because of the whole swimming pool thing. I remember when I wrote my article a while back they were still very early in the process, but I can't imagine the city turning down that stadium....the artist's rendering looked really nice!
Not for long. Mwahahahahahahahahaha!
Last I checked (which was about a week ago), they're still having permit problems. The final "moving date" seems to keep getting pushed back farther and farther. I mean, the ballpark would be great for the city and all, I'm just not sure that the city will be right for the ballclub...
Oh yeah here's the news about Duke - the A's are sending him back to the Bay Area where he will see a bunch of doctors and they will perform a bunch of tests to find out the seriousness of the situation. It appears that Saarloos will be taking his spot in the rotation until further notice.
