I've always thought that Eric Chavez was overrated as hell, he has no ability to hit lefty's. But I don't know if I would do this trade if I was the A's. Crede sucks. He has 'potential', but I don't know if he'll ever put it together. I'm not really familar with McCarthy though.
This tells me everything
If this trade would be an obvious downgrade for the A's, why would they do the trade? Chavez is the obvious franchise player, I don't think they would have let Tejada get away if they were just gonna trade Chavez later....tho in retrospect letting Tejada go was a terrible move IMO. He's just been awesome for the O's.Crede is a homegrown talent and still has the potential to blossom into an all-star caliber player. But the 27-year-old is off to another sluggish start and is simply not in the same league as Chavez.
And besides, even if the A's were getting McCarthy, there's a lot of pitching in the A's system already. Doesn't hurt to have more, but this isn't a trade they absolutely need to make.
Where the hell did this guy get this from??? I've heard absolutely nothing about Chavy wanting out of Oakland. And he wants out of Oakland so bad that he’s the one who apparently is fueling the trade rumor to the Sox.
This guy is full of BS
we're rumored to be trading away and for everyone this year
In the SF Chronicle today:
Chavez amused: Chavez got a kick out of a column in a Chicago-area newspaper, the Daily Herald, suggesting the A's might trade the third baseman because, "(Chavez) wants out of Oakland so bad that he's the one who apparently is fueling the trade rumor to the Sox.''
Chavez laughed and said, "Yeah, that's why I just signed a $66 million contract to stay here last year, so I can leave. Where does this stuff come from? I don't want to go anywhere near the East Coast, and to me Chicago is the East Coast, anything past Texas.''
A's general manager Billy Beane was outraged by the story, saying, "It's total (garbage.)''
Asked if he had plans to deal Chavez, he said, "Zero. Zero.''
people are stupid...who are we going to be trading away next week?
Probably Mark Kotsay for a jar of Jose Lima's finest sauce.Originally Posted by Providence A's
