Robertson, just called up, is now on the DL as well...Ramirez was called up
Sweet.
well through all of these negatives, when are we going to start the Dan Haren for Cy Young campaigns?
the guy ranks 1st in the AL in innings, ERA, WHIP, and win percentage
i know its still early, and i definately dont want to jynx anything, but it seems like this guy still gets no love on a national scale, while he is obviously proving to be one of the best pitchers in the league right now
Loaiza will be out an additional 4 - 6 weeks because he is opting for knee surgery now. Said he can't really push off and doesn't want to develop arm problems due to that.
Duke is going to have a 2nd opinion on that hip of his. He had pitched in Stockton. He might require surgery.
No timetable for Street and Harden yet...but Harden has started throwing again. Street might play catch on Friday.
Chavez has been battling some injuries and has been scheduled for some tests...we should know more by the end of the week.
Kotsay is off the DL...Murphy was sent back to AAA. Bocachica was DFA'd when Bradley came off the DL...the Padres claimed him.
MR Santiago Casilla was recalled and Witasick was DFA'd. Witasick has actually pitched OK this year. Aren't we still going to have to pay him? He's due $1.5 mil for this season...maybe he's about to be traded? But why would we DFA him?
I don't get it either?
apparently, he was unhappy with his playing time. It appears we're going to have to pay him the $1.5 mil if he is claimed on waivers or not...
Unhappy? OK well there's the door buddy........
hopefully, we can trade him for something...anything just so we won't have to pay him.
Haren named pitcher of the month
Haren and GaudinHaren went 3-0 in six starts, with a 1.67 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 43.0 innings pitched. The 26-year-old right-hander struck out a season-high nine batters against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays on May 4th. He won three consecutive games to finish the month and raised his win total to six on the year. Dan leads the American League with a minuscule 1.64 ERA this season. This is his first American League Pitcher of the Month Award.
Cleveland's Fausto Carmona (4-0, 2.25 ERA, 14 SO) finished second in the voting to Haren. Also receiving votes were Oakland's Chad Gaudin (4-0, 2.15 ERA, 22 SO)
Calero's value is pretty low right now I'd imagine...
Harden might start working out of the pen:

Hey Prov on the message board on the A's site they are calling for Geren's head. Sorry but I think he's done a pretty good job all things considered and lately I've seen him send up a pinch hitter for Kendall in some potential run-producing spots. I like that.
