Gosh tell me about it. What a freak injury.

as freak as Harden injuring himself turning off his alarm clock?
Swisher is da man...
For now
Bobby's been placed on the DL--fractured rib. And he may be out a while...
BALTIMORE -- With right-hander Kirk Saarloos being added to the roster to take Rich Harden's turn in the starting rotation Wednesday, the A's knew they'd have to make a personnel move.
They were hoping it wouldn't have to be quite so dramatic.
Shortstop Bobby Crosby, the reigning American League Rookie of the Year, was placed on the 15-day disabled list with what the club is calling a stress fracture of his ninth and 10th ribs.
"I'm trying to stay upbeat, but it's difficult," Crosby said. "You work your butt off for six months to get ready for the season, and on Opening Day, you crack a rib."
Crosby, who left Monday's season opener in the fourth inning, said he's hoping to be ready to play when he's eligible to come off the DL on April 20. However, Rockies pitcher Jason Young suffered a stress fracture of his seventh rib last May 21 and missed the rest of the season.
Manager Ken Macha didn't sound optimistic about a speedy recovery for Crosby.
"It's gonna be a while," he said.

so because that happened to one person, it's going to happen to everyone? people are stupid and of course there are always exceptions to the rule, but I hate when people come up with one example of something and act like that what happens most of the time...it's called a case study when you use one person to defend a point of view...you don't see too many case studies in scientific journals and you can't make generalizations from them eitherHowever, Rockies pitcher Jason Young suffered a stress fracture of his seventh rib last May 21 and missed the rest of the season.
Yeah I agree but it gives the media something to speculate about.
I think I saw Bobby in the dugout during tonight's game. At least he was well enough to be at the game
Noble deed by Zito. I hope other ML pitchers participate in this.

That is cool, thanks ABG.
It is going to be a rough year if Zito isn't at least going to be decent...I know it's early, but he's not done well and gotten hit hard.
Winning the Cy Young at such a young age was the worst thing that could have happened to him.
I'm watching the Braves game and it's vintage Tim Hudson. This sucks and I AM NOT happy with Billy Beane and the organization in general right now. They keep emailing me and sending me stuff in the mail about season tickets.
I think I'll spend my money elsewhere this year; they can piss off.
Huddy you lucky SoB...8 innings, 1 run...but oh wait, what a surprise...the bullpen blew it haha...they were up 3 - 1 in the top of thr 9th, now losing 4 - 3 in the bottom

have you read the book "aces"? That was one of Hudson's gripes about coming back to Oakland...he said something to the effect of "Why should I give them a discount for me to come back? They should have to pay me more to come back. Why should I come back when they may cost me making the hall of fame with all these no decisions." It's not a direct quote, I know, but I'm paraphrasing it
Are you going to SBC Park this year for a ballgame?Originally Posted by A'sDiehard
