because Manny plays extra hard when he can spite the Red Sox, and what better place to do it than NY? clearly when he plays, he f'in plays. .396 once going to the Dodgers and over .400 in the playoffs is exactly what the Yankees need.

No, the Yankees need better pitching in the rotation and bullpen. Let's say Manny has a good year and then gets tired of NY. Where are you then?? Yankees need to try and find a CFer and pitching. Manny makes them older and weaker on defense. Yankees need to get back to their winning ways and sticking to the same formula doesn't allow them to do that.

I'd put money on Boras successfully convincing him to play his heart out at the end of this season to convince potential suitors that he just didn't like Boston.
