That's how you can spell the Yankees pitching in Game 1 today.

Kei Igawa!
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!

And how exactly would you like to get CC?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.
Ah, give me something clever to say here.
The way he's pitching and the uncertainty of that division, he's probably not going to be dealt for awhile. They can rely on the hopes of snagging him in a deal.
Steve Trachsel needs a job, though

I don't want CC, either we give up a lot for a rental, or we sign a long, pricey contract to a starter, which the Yankees have already made clear they don't want to do (Santana)

Shawn Chacon anyone? He could tombstone pile drive Hanky.

Brownie & Koz are right. First there is no real emergency for the Indians to start trading players like CC. The last time I checked they were only 8 games out of what seems to be not the strongest division in the American League and it is only June 27th. Secondly what Brownie said why would the Yankees want to give up a ton of spects, because that is what it would take to get CC and then have him as a rental. What the Yankees need to do is let these guys develop. Yes it is unfortunet that Wang went down with injury and Hughes hasn't really showed what he is capable of yet, but they do have some good young arms. Yes they are young and it may take a bit of time, but if the Yankees get rid of this young talent down the road they will be in much worse shape when they have no depth to fill these positions when injury strikes. Sometimes it is worth the wait to sit back and let players develop as they will help for the future.
And this is coming from a Redsox fan who wants to see them fail miserably.
Precisely.

I don't understand this philosophy. If there is a relatively young, dominant starter, why not ink him long term, even if it's pricey? This team has clearly shown starting pitching is a MUST to win championships. They've shown it the awesome way when they have it, and the hard way when they don't. And yet they still won't pay for it. I think if they want to win this year and beyond, getting CC would be a great move. I would offer Ian Kennedy as the basis for a package. That's just IMO.
And if the indians are smart, and well, they pretty much have been for years, they'll kindly direct the yankees to a urinal.

Oh, and for the record, any deal for Sabathia would probably need Kennedy, Cano, possibly Hughes, and maybe one more prospect. That's a steep price if you ask me.
