The Yankees stink... You beat up on the Rays and then lose to the Pirates? Nice to see you play only to the opponents level of play.

And he was apparently a rockies fan as well, especially September-October 2007. Now that the Rockies are bad, he blew up the bandwagon.

A little comparison to 2007 at the All Star Break:

2007: 43-43, 9 games back of 1st in the L column, 7 games back in the L column for the WC.
2008: 50-45, 6 games back in the L column of 1st, 5 games back of the WC.

    After 95 games

    2007: 49-46, 7 games back of 1st and WC in L column
    2008: 50-45, 6 from 1st, 45 from WC in L column.

I'm not sure I understand the first comparison. One is 86 games and one is 95?

One is from the AS break a year ago but we played more games this year by the break so I put up the comparison after the exact # of games as well.

That would have been an ugly loss yesterday had they blown it. They had so many chances to make that 2-0 lead much larger then to have Mariano give up a run and Christian fall down on an easy steal. It could have been ugly BUT instead it was a great win, now let's get the sweep. it's going to be very difficult against Oak's Ace but hopefully Andy can match him.

That ending was pretty funny. Walk off HBP haha. Pretty crazy. It is looking pretty good so far. Hopefully they keep this up.

    Re: 2008 Random Yankees Ramblings

The post ASB has gone alomost perfectly so far w. the Yanks winning 3 straight, the Sox lising 3 straight and Tampa losing yesterday. Now we are 5 out in the L column fron first and just 2 behind in the WC race. Let's keep it up and keep winning series.

Yankees win again!!! 9 games above 500 now. Still 4.5 behind Tampa though because they won tonight also.

    Re: 2008 Random Yankees Ramblings

Rasner pitched very well and would have gotten the win if not for another blown call where the runner was out at 1st and they called him safe. Tampa lost, Boston won so we are now just 4 out in the L column from the Rays and 2 behind Boston.

They posted an amazing fact the other night on YES. The last time a Twins Manager was over .500 agains the Yankees in a season was Billy Martin in 1969. The Twins have had some really good teams over the years and when they Twins were really good in the late 80s-early 90s the Yankees were awful(specifically from '89-'91 we were awful). It was surprising to see, I'll have to look it up to make sure it's correct.

Mussina was great and we had more clutch hitting, 2 sweeps in a row to start the post all-star break. It would really send a message if we can take 2 of 3 in Boston this weekend.
