Only 2 series left, the next 3 nights vs. Baltimore and then 3 vs. Toronto. Unless we win all 6 we won't get to 100 wins and right now we are tied w/ Det for the best record.

The pitching matchups are:

Penn vs. Lidle Tonight
Benson vs. Wang Tomorrow
Cabrera vs. Johnson Thursday

Our pitching better not ***** us right out of the playoffs again. I can't deal with it. If Wang doesn't pitch well in the playoffs we'll be home awfully quick because we don't have any other reliable starter.

'02 was the last time our pitching was responsible for our early exits, the last few years it's been the bats disappearing but we have a better lineup this year than any of those teams and we don't rely on the HR as much.

We are now 1 game up on det and 2 games up on Minny for best record and homefield throughout after we pounded Baltimore 16-5 and Det and Minny both lost. Wang got his 19th win but he won't get 20 as this was his last start of the reg season- it was announced he'll be our Game 1 starter in the ALDS. Click the link for last night's box:

The way things are going I'd be surprised if the Yanks didn't get 100 wins. They are tooling on everybody right now.

And with Detroit losing 7-1, a win tonight will pretty much ensure homefield advantage by putting us up 2 games with 3 left.

They won't get 100 wins and they are still just a game ahead of Detroit and now also a game ahead of Minny but they did avoid history as Robinson Cano broke up a no hitter by Daniel Cabrera w/ 1 out in the 9th. Maybe not winning 100 is a good thing, we won 100+ from '02-'04 and never won the WS but 3 of our 4 Championship years since '96 we won less than 100. By the way the Yanks went over the 4 mil mark in attendance again the other night and this weekend should set a franchise record for attendance.
