I didn't vote. I push here. Sheff will not play a single game for us the rest of the season and will play elsewhere next season. I just don't see him coming back.

Mount Sheffield will not return.

I think he will and he'll pop off as he always does but I hope it motivates him to take it out on opposing pitchers rather than sulking and hurting the team.
THE NEWS
Yankees outfielder Gary Sheffield is open to playing first base upon his return from a wrist injury, according to the Associated Press. "I talked to Sheff Sunday, before he left, and just told him that there's no guarantee that this makes him odd man out just because we got a right fielder," manager Joe Torre said. "We may just have to find some other thing to do. I didn't specifically say first base the other day, but we did today. He, Donnie and myself talked today. He's already working drills with Donnie."
Our View
This is all assuming that Sheffield comes back healthy from his wrist injury, something that Derrek Lee has reminded us this year is easier said than done. That being said, it does make sense for Sheffield to play first base, and he could become eligible for that position in 2006 and 2007.
I liked how he said, referring to Giambi, "If he can do it. I can do it." A nice way of saying Giambi sucks as a 1B, huh?
Maybe the Yankees could trade him somewhere for a middle reliver or starter.... Just as long as it is not Milwaukee.... We had to deal with jim and his huge EGO early in his career.... I don't think he and/or the Brewers would do it anyways.... Just a thought.
Or the Yankees could put him on waivers and try to trade him for the stretch run and they could get some pitching help this year....
GO BREWERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sheffield for Turnbow, git 'er done.
