What would we do with Lugo. I'd rather have Castillo and Cora over him and once Reyes is back we'll have 2 guys on the bench instead of one.

I'd take Lugo over Cora. Cora's meant to be a bench player, pinch hitter, etc anyway, and Cora isn't injured. And once Reyes comes back (if he comes back), you can release Cora and only pay 400k max.
Wish we would have had Lugo now with his first few games with St.Louis.
Told ya!
Can't complain too much though, Castillo is hitting .300 and Cora had a couple base hits today.
We've won 3 straight and I hate it. Our offense is actually producing. It makes me want to make a deal and give us fans a little confidence and if we indeed don't do anything the rest of the season its not like they haven't broken our hearts enough already.
Yeah, but to be fair, I'd rather them compete this year and miss the playoffs then continue to be abysmal....
True I don't know what I truely want yet.
*Jerry Manuel told reporters yesterday that Livan Hernandez is ‘on call,’ and will be considered as an available pinch hitter today, as the team continues to play with just a three-man bench.
*Carlos Beltran took batting practice in the indoor cage, while wearing a brace on his injured right knee.
According to Beltran, though his recent MRI indicated the bone bruise in his knee has not improved, he has been hitting with the brace for more than a week, and he hopes to return in two to three weeks.
Beltran told reporters, speaking from his locker before yesterday’s rainout:
“The big test will be running outside… Being pain-free is unrealistic right now. Being able to come back 100 percent is not going to happen… 85 percent, I’ll take that. I feel I can manage myself like that. That is fine with me… Hopefully I can get back soon… The bruise is still there, but I feel better.”
Prior to yesterday’s game, Jerry Manuel said Luis Castillo will not start today’s 12:10 pm game, as he will be with his wife, who will be giving birth to their child in a local New York hospital.
“Hopefully, at some point, Luis will rejoin us,” Manuel said.
From what I hear, Castillo hopes to be in the dugout before the end of the first game of the double header...
In the New York Post, Page Six says Jose Reyes was spotted last Friday night, dancing at the club Serie 56 in Washington Heights.
According to the report, ‘Reyes danced all night long… He and a bevy of Latin ladies took over the entire VIP section.’
The Mets say the report is false, as Reyes was rehabbing in Port St. Lucie last Friday… he was not even in New York.
According to Brian Costa of the Newark Star Ledger, the Mets have DFA'd Elmer Dessens. They will also call up Robinson Cancel for catching depth. Schneider's knee is apparently hurting.
I hate this 5 game winning streak and the trade deadline being in 24 hours. ='[
