@AnthonyDiComo: The Mets have requested that Matt Harvey agree to a minor league assignment. He refused to accept, and will be DFA'd.
Ehh, he's going to be claimed by Oakland, which is practically a minor league assignment, anyway.

He should go to Houston since their pitchers are allowed to use pine tar. That should help him.

What are the Reds thinking giving up anything for Fatt Harvey?
Edit: Knowing my luck, Harvey will throw a complete game shutout against the Dodgers this Saturday.

Good news Homer Bailey! Your team found someone worse.
Marshall: MILSWANCAs?
Ted: Wait, I can get this. Mothers I'd like to sleep with and never call again.
Barney: Circle gets the square!
The 2074 MSL NL Gold Glove Recipient at Third Base.
There is really not much downside to this deal.
Harvey finds a spot in a rotation, possible redemption, if he fails he'd probably be out of baseball all together, but the best option the reds are putting out there every fifth day is Brandon Finnegan and his 7.5 ERA in 24 innings this year.
Mesoraco on the other hand, makes more money than Harvey, has lost his last 18 starts at catcher for the reds, has lost his starting role to Tucker Barnhart who won a gold glove last season.
But the mets also get a possible redemption case here with Mesoraco being a former first round pick who, before injuries effected him, hit .273/.359/.534 and 25 homers and 80 RBI in 2014.
First round pick, for first round pick, both players needing to find new life, both teams having a need at that position.
I don't know how you can scoff at this deal from either side.
Right on cue, washed up Harvey...a guy who was fucking designated for assignment ...is shutting us out. Can it get anymore pathetic?

Would have been a perfect 4 innings if there wasn't a horrendous outfield play....
Could be worse, our idiot owner didn't let the FO trade him for a scratch off and now he's going to LA.
