An X-ray has revealed a small fracture in David Wright's right pinkie.
The good news is that he won't need surgery, but Wright will wear a splint and be sidelined indefinitely. The Mets haven't said if a disabled list stint will be required, but we have to assume it will be. He'll be re-evaluated Wednesday and will resume baseball activities once he can tolerate the pain. The Mets started Ronny Cedeno at the hot corner on Tuesday, and he figures to see plenty of playing time while Wright is sidelined. Justin Turner would also be due for an uptick in at-bats, and the club could call up Zach Lutz.
