Mets GM Sandy Alderson told Joel Sherman of the New York Post on Wednesday that a follow-up exam on Davis' sore left ankle showed very little progress and that the first baseman won't be back "any time soon." If Davis undergoes the microfracture procedure, he won't return at all this season. The 24-year-old is going to try to perform some baseball-related activities three weeks from now, then an official decision will be made.
