Interesting news today, the Mets selection of Terry Collins for the managerial job. Rumors say that the Mets were debating between Bob Melvin and Collins for the past day or so, and made the decision to go with Collins. He's got some managerial experience, ties to the organization (was the Minor League Field Coordinator last year), and is apparently more fiery than any manager the Mets have had in years. I'm okay with the hire, though concerned that fans may not give him the same chance to be successful that would have been afforded to fan favorite Wally Backman. We'll see how this turns out, but I'm excited to know who's going to be making the decisions this coming season and moving forward.
