His bat has nothing to do with his defense and it will take him more than a year to become more than mediocre.

He COULD but doubtful.
I'm not sure why you doubt him. It's not "easy" to learn to play LF, but it's also not impossible. Murphy is a hard working young man who blames himself for his errors, and wants to help the team win. I don't see any reason that he, with his DESIRE to become a good LF can't do so by August.
I just don't see it happening this year and there has been nothing so far to change my mind. Let it go. Glad to see he is blaming himself for his errors since he had no other choice.
Another blunder in the outfield from Dan Murph last night, right off the bat in the first inning which led to the first run. That was right after Murph's awful baserunning mistake which led to him getting caught in a rundown in the top of the inning. The comedy continues.

I still can't get over the whole process they have setup for him when a ball is hit to left. Does Juan Pierre even had that, or Johnny Damon?
Should they have considered making him a 2B instead, since Castillo is not a long term option.

He throws to the shortstop as a cutoff instead of the 3B. Honestly, with a guy like Reyes who's arm is strong and accurate(maybe better than Wright's) it's really not that big a deal. It's just done to make it easier for Murphy in the transition, since, as a IF, he's used to throwing on the run, and this way he's not forced to set and throw a more accurate, quick, throw.
Daniel Murphy is done as a left fielder according to Jerry Manuel
I'm not quite sure what you're laughing at. It's a logical move. We have an opening at 1B now, a natural position for him, and guys like Tatis, Reed, Sheffield, etc are more comfortable in the outfield. It's not necessarily a move about one guy never being able to learn, rather the most obvious solution to a problem...
I'm laughing at just how awful Murphy was in the OF that Manuel said he is no longer an option.
But that's not at all the reasoning. It's not because he was struggling. It's because the best option defensively for the team is for him to play 1B, and having him anywhere else would be stupid.
Having him in LF after last night would be stupid. It is the reasoning. Like you said, him out of LF is best for the team defensively. You are agreeing with me, you just don't realize it.
