I would look into Chad Cordero as a cheap option to fix up the bullpen. If he can come back from his shoulder problem, he can still be helpful to plenty of teams...Nationals sent RHP Chad Cordero, RHO Ryan Wagner and infielder Pete Orr outright to Triple-A Syracuse.
They'll all become free agents. Cordero was informed by the Nats of the decision to non-tender him after he underwent shoulder surgery. He hopes to be ready for 2009, but it's way too early to know whether he's going to regain his stuff. He'll probably have to settle for an incentive-laden one-year deal. Wagner and Orr will look for minor league contracts.
