Forgive CJ, he's been in Tibet for the last couple of months, praying for a good 2010 season for the Fighting Irish.

Even if does keep all the spects, his financials for this season are going to be ruined. He only made 60 last year so he'd lose 40 mil next season. He'd be handcuffed for a few seasons in terms of payroll atleast.

Hey figure I post my opinion. Personally I didn't bid for any FA because I figure something like this was going to happen. I didn't think the money would be as high as it was but I thought 2-5 million dollar bets would be placed on the really good prospect FA.
I am ok with Sabu keeping these prospect as long as he actually loses the money he offered them. I don't think it would be fair if he signed one to 1 year @ 9.99 million, but only has to pay the player 300k this season.
BTW Sabu...I thought you left the league because he couldn't beat the Brewers.
This has already been settled.
Prospects are going back to the pool and won't be able to be signed.

He would have paid the players in question whatever he signed them for in this season. The following year the contracts that were 1 year would have reverted to MLC (if in minors) or $300k (if in majors).
The same thing happens if you sign an international FA/created player to a one or two year contract. If you signed them to a three year contract and used them three full years in the majors, then they'd go to arby. Four or five year contracts might as well be five or six because the player will automatically get that salary amount in arby...unless you sign him for cheaper or release him. This happened to me in OM's league. I traded for a player who must have been created or an international FA. He was signed for $14 mil x 4 years. This season he was up for arby and I signed him for $5 mil x 4 years. Otherwise he would have gotten $14 mil for the next season unless I cut him.
It all has to do with service time.
I rarely make trades sabu and I didn't trade with you because we were in the same division at the time. Now that we are in differently leagues....I will gladly trade with you.
Oh and this season the Brewers have the chance to win 6 straight division titles. Something your Pirates never did.
