I've always felt like star rating plays a big role in likelihood to fill out. All things being relatively equal, I'll take a 5* over a 3.5* any day. That said, a good get for the second round

Star ratings are more like tiebreakers for me. Relievers with endurance are pretty much ruled out of that, though, because it pushes their star rating up higher than it should be.
It's highly unlikely if Prince or Claborn were listed as "SP" they'd keep the 5 star rating for the reason Witlon pointed out. Lange was a major steal. Sometimes you have to look at the whole picture instead of one number
Me pointing out they were 5 star prospects was more of a dig at a 10-6-8 reliever being overrated.

At the same time, I think Prince, Claborn, and Lange are all excellent boom potential prospects (if you convert Prince or Claborn to an actual SP next spring training). Same for one more fellow left in the draft.

I mostly ignore the star rating. A player with specific ratings is what it is regardless of what the game rates it.
The only thing I take into account with the star rating is it could be an indicator of how small or large the real number is within the 10 digit range. (When I'm not running the league and can't see that, of course)

Agreed with what most of you said. But a 6/8/8, 7/9/6, and 5/9/9 are all pretty similar. I've has bad experience with low stuff guys, though Lange has stamina. It was a calculated choice. Am i up now?
