That can be a risky thing in my opinion. If I lowball them, I might cause worse demands or end results.

Please check for demands first. If they have demands, post them please. If they still want an offer, go with the following:

Bonds: 13M x 3. If he wants more years... I'll do 4 but thats it. If he wants more money, I'll go 14M then 15M.

I have to wait on the rest due to age and performance. If I can get Bonds reasonably, I'll probably agree to Stearnes demands.

That risk exists with any "wants offer" scenario regardless of loyalty, but I would presume that a loyal player will have better odds of not acting lowballed with a reasonable offer.

I haven't taken any real data for an actual study, of course, but going off general feel of experience I don't get the impression "loyal" players ask for specific demands any more than non-loyal players. They just have more reasonable demands when they do have them and take more reasonable offers when that's what they ask for.

You've ran this longer than I have, though, so you may have a different and more qualified perception.

Barry Bonds: Wants offer, and now trying to disprove everything I wrote above. Money not enough, mood isn't bad at 13, 14, and 15 x 3. I tried 13 x 4 and he said "slowly getting impatient" so I stopped there.
