Let's be honest, The Hobbit's final film is going to destroy all competition, so I am not including it. But I am going to have a bonus this week (read at the end).
In old school fashion, this week you are picking between movies. We have the remake of Annie, featuring the likes of Jamie Foxx, Cam'Ron Diaz, some kids, and it's produced by Jay-Z and Will Smith. It's a family oriented film, sure. But it's going against another family oriented film in the third Night at the Museum film.
Night at the Museum returns most of the core cast in Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Ricky Gervais, as well as one of Robin Williams' final films. Seems like you'd be wondering how there's 3 of these things now? The second film brought in over 400 million, the original over 570 million. It's a downward trend, however, even if it makes 300 million, that's about double it's budget. In other words, that's still making a lot of money for a fairly meh franchise.
Bonus baby: Since The Hobbit also debuts in the US this week, predict how much it will make (U.S. gross only).
If you're within:
25 million- 5 points
10 million- 10 points
Less than a million- 25 points
There can obviously be multiple winners. Poll will close Saturday at some point. Don't forget to vote and list a bonus. Good luck!
