The Movie Pick 'Ems: Horror in December!

Last few weeks have been jammed pack with big movies. And now we hit a lull with....The Pyramid.

What is the Pyramid? No, not a sequel to Stargate. Also not some animated film about cats being worshipped.

It's a horror film, about archaeologists being hunted...in a pyramid. Woooo, December releases! It stars Dennis O'Hare (of the criminally awesome tv show American Horror Story) and some gal. It's a horror movie, who cares.

Working against it, is that it's Rated R. I have not seen a trailer for this movie, nor know much about it, but that's usually not good for a Rated R movie. In recent years, heavy advertising for horror movies such as Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The Conjuring, the Purge,.. etc have helped out a bit. It also helped that some of those films were pretty good. But rated R does limit the scope of the audience, instead you get teenies sneaking in to see it. The other thing that is working against it, is that The Hunger Games, Big Hero 6, Interstellar, Horrible Bosses 2, an animated Penguin film, and even the movie that will never GO away, Gone Girl... are still around. So odds are, it won't be the top movie, but.. where might it go?

I haven't really gotten in to Freak Show, yet, but the first 3 seasons were quite good.

And I'm obviously waiting on theatre numbers, but I'm guessing I'll have it no higher than 4th.

I skipped the coven...witches don't interest me. I loved Asylum.
