There's only one movie opening this weekend, which is smart, since the only movie opening is the third film of the Hunger Games saga. By now, you pretty much get the idea of what to expect from these movies and the cast is largely the same, including being one of the last films by late Phillip Seymour Hoffman.
All you really need to know in determining how well this movie will fair is that 1) J-Law is pure Hollywood gold right now 2) the second movie made over 860 million and 3) the first movie made over 690 million. There stands a good chance that, if the movie is viewed favorably as the first two, it could top 860 million although it's likely it will wind up earning between 690 and 860. I've only seen the first movie and I enjoyed the survival elements. Apparently it's turned into a giant war movie of sorts. Who knew.
With all due respect to Dumb and Dumber To, Big Hero 6, and Interstellar, they will all get blown out of the water. So this week, you will be picking the gross total domestically for Mockingjay Part 1's opening weekend. Keep in mind, this movie is out on the 20th.
The poll will close Saturday. Points start this week, so tell your friends, or in Mach's case, tell your creepy dolls.
