Was there a ridiculous amount of pitching signings in the NL and hitters in the AL that could cause this tilt?
Could it be the number of really bad fielding guys are starting to make up the majority of starting teams and pitchers are giving up more runs because of it?

It was 4.78 and 4.24 in the AL and NL respectively in 2054.
I don't have 2053 data due to the computer switch not giving me a 2053 almanac for some reason
in 2052 it was 4.69 and 4.19

Also I feel like expansion would have spread out the talent some. Granted, all four teams sucked but each league got two. The past two drafts have had depth but nothing special compared to the norm, and that wouldn't have had any effect. So maybe just previous draft goods + nifty free agent imports is the culprit? One of my fears of expansion was actually making stats worse (I.e. Head scratching offense like in TBL). Not the opposite

Slyder brings up a good point perhaps. 11 NL teams have a .980 or higher fielding. AL only has 6

errors don't affect ERA though.

AL has still owned the NL forever despite the...whatevers.

I'm sure a better way to measure the defensive impact is have someone who has no life like Mach or Witlon, and see on average what each team's defensive range rating is. Because if the al totes more stonehenges, that'll increase an ERA. Then again I'd rather play a Stonehenge that can hit than a great fielder that hits .150. So who knows. OOTP is evil.

I think the AL ERA will fall below 5 by the end if the season. Baltimore's pitching alone probably brought it up a full tenth.
I have the leagues best ERA and i'm in Coors. Just saying.
Interestingly, the NL has given up 500+ fewer walks and has a BABIP about 10-15 points lower.
Or, it could have something to do with the extra 200 HR hit by the AL.

Maybe it's just a talent distribution thing.
I'd have to scour the ratings of all the starting line ups. Off to Excel I go.

I guess it doesn't help that I've had Houston on a 3 man rotation all year
I don't think one team's rotation should make that much of a league wide difference, though. I wish autoing a team would also auto the rotation size.
