2054 was like a reloading year. I knew I couldn't contend without a bullpen and a severely underperforming staff, plus some injuries to the lineup. I got creative at the trade deadline to get more youth, build the immediate farm up a bit more, and save some cash, cause let's face it, I'm only Boston in name. I'm more like Tampa Bay or some other lame market. And then we changed the league up and I got all pissed at the draft and said and decided, you know what, Rickey Henderson is just going to be my 2B and Y'ALL CAN'T STOP ME.
At least until someone trades me a 2B.
God knows what will happen, other than Baltimore winning 100-120 games. New York rebooted. Cleveland and whoever the fuck runs them got tossed in the division. Probably gonna be the same 3 teams, with the two that don't win the divisoon competing with whoever doesn't win the AL West for the wild card spot. Blood will be shed. Limbs will be lost. Hammer will cry in his coke.
And I still don't have a pen.

Pretty grim reality as the season goes along, with Taylor and Mathews wanting Chipper contracts, so free agency in 2056 should be pretty nuts. So hey, there's that to look forward to, for the rest of you all. Should be a pretty good race for the wild card. I don't see myself competing with Baltimore's all-around mega talent. Plus they have a good pen. And The Jet. Damn.
