You COULD even spin it off as a bonus... the WINNER gets their popularity MAXED. the runners up get a +1 to National Popularity and a +2 to local.... something like that...

You could change the player's nickname to the award, Kingdom "ROY" of Zito, then you can always have that feather in that players cap.

Maybe at the first sign of "aging" that player will get a "Save" meaning if at 33ish that player loses contact or power or something, he doesn't lose it that time... adds a slight longevity to the "Greats"

I like this idea, there's SO OFTEN that someone, "CANNOT BELIEVE THAT MY GUY WASN'T THE WINNER" Well now a jury of your peers can agree to that. I believe the poll should go out at the point where the season ends/playoffs begin, and released when the world series is over....I know this may be a lot of work on you Kingdom, But if you came up with 3-5 candidates for MVP, CY, and ROY for both NL & AL that would be perfect... you can even do a Rolaids relief man!
