I looked into that when I was starting TBL. The game won't allow four playoff teams in two conference play.

That's some Martha Stewart bullshit. So it's either 6 divisions for 8 playoff teams or 4 divisions for 4 playoff teams. fuckyoubullshit.

There are other options. I have 2 divisions in each league and 2 from each division make it (8 total). You can do 2 leagues and 2 from each league (4 total) make it IIRC.

I don't like it. Divisions keep things more interesting in my opinion. You're not just playing for the world title, you have your division rivals to hash it out with along the way.

I know teams can miss the playoffs while another team with a worse record makes it this way, but that's the case in real life as well and I'm all for realism.

I agree that it adds all of that, in real life. I've only developed one real rivalry in all my seasons, and the team wasn't even in my division. That guy was a douche. Rocksports or something like that..

I've always thought it would be fun to to have the four best teams in each league hash it out in the playoffs every year, in OOTP. I probably would have gone with that for TBL, had the game allowed me to.

You have to have at least two divisions in each league to have 8 playoff teams. If you just have one division in each league, you can only have 4 playoff teams.

I might consider going to 4 divisions instead of the six we have right now. That would at least make it harder for this to happen.
