Wednesday 4/19/2041: Charles Gehringer stars with cycle against Pittsburgh
SEATTLE - Seattle's second baseman Charles Gehringer once again displayed his tremendous ability to make contact with that little white ball. He tore up Pittsburgh's pitching staff with a 4 hit performance on Wednesday. In the 1st inning he unloaded a solo homerun off Bill Lee. Number 2 in the 3rd inning accounted for a double. A pitch from Bill Lee in the 5th inning left his bat for a RBI triple. A single in the 7th off Bryan Pickett accounted for his 4th hit. That drive completed the cycle, causing a smile on his face! Charles scored 2 runs, and he collected 2 RBI as well! He's having a very good season so far, batting .308. He's now the 104th player in league history to hit for the cycle!
