    Kirby Puckett had a Stroke...

Sad day for Twins fans one of the greatest Twins ever had a stroke today. Puckett is only 44 years old. Happened at his home in Scottsdale Arizona. There is no further updates currently.

On a great note Twins beat Boston again 5-1. Hunter did not play was to upset over Puckett's stroke. Puckett took Hunter under his wings when Hunter finally got to the big league! Hope you get well Kirby!

Incredibly terrible news. I certainly hope that Kirby pulls through this without any major complications.

I have been so busy lately, I have had almost no time to listen to sports radio.

I don't even know when he had the stroke. I just heard about it a couple hrs ago.

Ok, got some updated news (well, updated to -me- anyway.

On the radio this morning, they were talking about Puckett. Here's what I've heard so far. He's been transfered twice and is in critical condition in a 3rd hospital. They did surgury on him awfully fast yesterday. That being said, Puckett's outlook isn't very positive right now.

Apparently, he said at one point he'd be surprised if he lived past the age of 50. There are health problems in his family and both of his parents died at an early age as well. One of the sports guys also said that he's also made comments about letting his weight go and didn't care as he didn't expect to be around much longer anyway. I dunno, sounds pretty somber

Hearing them talking about him this morning left me with tears in my eyes. Puckett is one of the greatest and most beloved sports figures in MN history. He was taken from the game far too early and it's looking like he may be taken from us again.
