    Hughes set an MLB record for strike-out to walk ratio this season. He struck out 186 and walked 16 for an 11.63:1 ratio. He is the first pitcher in the modern era (since 1901) to pitch at least 200 innings and walk 16 or fewer.
    Not a bad showing for a bad team. 16-10, 3.52. More than acceptable.

    The Twins ought to let him come out of the pen for an out just to get to 200 and the bonus that was taken from him because of the rain delay.

    Terry Ryan offered Hughes an opportunity to pick up the 1/3 inning out of the bullpen this weekend and he declined. Classy move on both parts.
