Our Top sp is getting called up. 1st start will be on saturday.

He goes against James Shields and the Royals. Not the easiest of assignments, but we'll see what he's got right away.

Gibson got the win and pitched well.

He didn't look quite as sharp yesterday. He's got some adjusting to do. Major league hitters don't miss bad pitches very often. He could get away with missing some spots in the minors, but not in the bigs.

next start is the one we should judge him by.

Kelly said that you really don't know what a hitter can give you until he has over 1000 major league ABs and what a pitcher has until he has thrown 400 innings. Hopefully, Gibson will be able to make adjustments over the break and work on things with the coaching staff. He has good stuff and needs to get his confidence at the big-league level.
