Jaques Jones signs with the Twins

35 year old Jaques Jones signs with the Twins. I don't see him making the Twins club but he said he would play in AAA if he can't make the big league club. Jones might be a guy that can pitch hit if needed. I guess this was a signing just in case there would be an injury to our outfielders.

He had a great leadoff bat, and fielded his position well. Good signing. When they expand the rosters for the playoffs, he could bring some good experience and insight to our young outfielders.

Oh nostalgia. I love Jacque Jones, but it will be hard for him to find a spot on the opening day roster. What makes this a great signing is the fact that he will play in AAA if necessary. A great insurance policy.

I think Jones will gladly play in Rochester if he doesn't make the team out of camp. He loves to play the game and, in his prime, was a very good all-around player. He could run well, had a decent arm, hit for power and average, and would catch the ball.
I'm glad to have him back in the Twins' system.

He won't be a part of the team on opening day, gonna be assigned to AAA Rochester.
