The last time the Twins were in Arlington, they took 2 of 3 and should have swept the Rangers. The loss in the final game of that series started the team on its spiral, IMO. Can they right the ship?
Tonight, its Liriano v. Hunter.
Tuesday, Pavano v. Feldman.
Wednesday, Baker goes against Millwood.
Thursday, Swarzak faces Holland.
If Liriano pitches well tonight, the Twins will get the series off on the right foot. I hope to see Pavano and Swarzak pitch well. I am going to assume that Baker will give the team a good start.

Texas + mid August = Hell.

I hope they can win at least 3 of these games. We really need to start winning a lot to be in the hunt.

Humber pitched to 9 batters, retiring 5 of them. He allowed a run on 3 hits and 2 walks. He struck out 1.
Mauer hit 2 homers (3/5 -- now batting .383) and Delmon Young hit another.
With Baker pitching tomorrow's game, I have a good feeling about it.

Not Baker's best outing, but the bats came back and scored some runs.

Bullpen pitched 3.2 innings of hitless baseball, while striking out 5.

Another good win tonight for the Twins. Baker gets the win, although he didn't have his best stuff. 5.1 innings, 9 hits, 4 runs (all earned), 2 walks, 6 K's. Mijares pitched 2.2 innings, striking out 3 and Nathan threw 16 pitches in a tidy 9th -- 2 K's.
Offensively, the bottom of the lineup did a nice job and Span got his average back to .300.
Baker threw a lot of pitches with runners on base, and did well, for the most part.
Jose Mijares gets my game ball tonight. He pitched a great couple of innings.

Two wins so far. Team is playing better but, the sp's must stop giving up those 4 to 6 run innings. Twins were down 4 runs tonight and we were able to get the bats going to get the win. The pen did it's job tonight.

One more thing the starting pitchers must pitch longer than 2.1 innings a game! We can expect to win otherwise.

The team got beat again tonight 11-1. The lone run was scored on Delmon Young's 8th homer. Span was 3/4, Mauer was 1/4 and is now batting .378.
Obviously, the pitching was not very good, although Philip Humber pitched a scoreless inning.
Justin Morneau returned to the Twin Cities to see a specialist about his inner ear infection. This makes 2 guys that have suffered from these this season (Morneau and Span). I hope Justin can get his cleared up quicker than Denard did earlier this season.
