I was not overly happy with signing Mike Lamb. I understand that the 3rd base position was very thin and there was potentially no experience at the left corner. I do like Lamb, but the Twins signed him to a 2 year deal, that's a year too long. Now that Lamb's playing time has diminished dramatically due to Buscher playing well as of late since he was called up for the second time. His offense is flat, which the Twins don't want.
Monroe was acquired, but to share the duties with DH like Gardy has planned prior to the season? Yeah, right. Most of time it went to Kubel. Although Monroe has a power and he can hit homeruns (thank you for the biggest comeback this season at Kansas City!), but he has struggled most of the times. Will he accept to allow Kubel to take over the DH spot most of times for the rest of the 2008 season? Or should the Twins trade him for prospect(s)?
Everett was signed primarily for his defense, not his weak hitting. With his shoulder tendinitis, he came up short. He hasn't been playing much ever since. Harris has since moved to the SS position and playing better than he did at second (before Alexi Casilla get promoted again). I think the Twins has finally figured out who will play infield (except 1st base, we all know who it belongs to). Nick Punto is better off as an utility player as he was a few seasons ago. I don't think Adam Everett will ever attract one team, even for a prospect.
So what can the team management do with those three? Just leave put and wait till the season is over and let's worry about that again? I hope I'm wrong. So they should be swapped for prospects or whatnot.
