Twins Buscher out with a leg infection

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Twins rookie infielder Brian Buscher has a rapidly growing infection in his leg and was flown back to Minneapolis on Wednesday where he may be hospitalized.

The infection apparently stems from when Buscher fouled a ball off his right leg "five or six days ago," manager Ron Gardenhire said. He said Buscher would be placed on the disabled list and the contract of infielder Tommy Watkins would be purchased from Triple-A Rochester.
Hopefully it's not as serious as Cellulitis, not cellulite, mind you. My dad had it a few years ago and it could have killed him if it was not for an early detect.

Please pray for anything better for our rookie.

Cellulitis is any infection of soft tissues. It can be very serious, but is usually not. He will be treated with IV antibiotics for a couple of days and then be placed on oral antibiotics for a week to 10 days. His activity level will be monitored until the infection clears.
I'm not too concerned in the short term, but if he is susceptible to these infections, he will have to be carefully watched by the medical staff.
