Shannon Stewart was diagnosed Monday with a slight tear of his left plantar fascia, but the Twins are hopeful he'll return when his 15 days are up.
Stewart missed two months with plantar fasciitis in his other foot two years ago. "I would say it's somewhat similar (to the 2004 injury), although we don't think it's anything that will hinder him after 15 days on the DL," GM Terry Ryan said. Jason Kubel and Lew Ford will play left field until Stewart comes off the DL.

This sucks for two reasons. The Twins will be missing a good ball payer and his trade value went down.

I read this earlier and I tell ya , I was jumping for joy when I saw Kubel was getting called up. *sigh*
