Solid outing for a starting pitcher in his MLB debut, you guys got a good young pitcher in the making there.

I agree with you on both points. Yost left him in too long, IMO. Should have been done after the 6th inning, he had thrown 93 pitches up to that point!!!
Yea making a guy in his 1st MLB start throw 100+ pitches is a big no-no IMO.
Lets all give Yost one big, fat DUH!!!!
Even true baseball fans know better than that!!! geez!!!
Then that's 2 DUH's in a row because of Sunday's game with Spurling....
Just too many pitches for his first start in the Big Leagues!!! Yost doesn't even let his other starters go that long too often!!! Just my opinion!!!
Because generally in your 1st season as a pitcher you typically done throw allot of innings, which equals to a low pitch count every game, as a Giants fan I believe we almost won that game because of Gallardo being in there 1 inning too long, 7th inning where he was getting tired and he already thrown over 100+ pitches and we took advantage of him.
I think the Giants may've ended up winning if Vizquel wouldn't have tried to bunt to lead off the 7th, just a dumb call for a veteran player. You have a young pitcher in the mid 90s in pitches, take your shot.
But I conquer, a better manager would've had him out after 6, and left it to the pen.
Another good one tonight, Sheets and Lincecum, eh?
I agree with you Wilton about the better manager part. One would think that Yost would have learned more from Bobby Cox than he displays!
Tonight's match-up does look like a good one on paper at least!!!
Sheets did a fabulous job! I love the heading in yesterday's sports page. "Wrinkle-Free Sheets" I can see Gallardo going to Sheets for advice if he has to.
Him or Suppan would be good guys to get advice from.
Sure about that? LoL I'd go to Sheets first at this rate.
Still ok to go with Suppan too...
Or Gallardo can go to Hardy and Fielder for hitting advice.
